Female White-backed Woodpecker discovered at unknown site near Lapy, Narew Valley. Bird was observed in old alderwood by a water disposal dump.

Several Hawfinches, some Blackbirds, Redpolls noticed in Bialystok town during winter census. Flock of 26 Shore Larks near Suchowola.

Wintering bird count in Bialystok - ca 430 Waxwings, Mistle Thrushes, some Blackbirds. Unusual ones include Robin, 8 Chaffinches, Syrian Woodpecker. Quite chilly (-10 C) and snowfalls coming.
Adult Golden Eagle killing and eating a dog near Hajnowka (Bialowieska Forest edges). Unusual wintering Red Bunting also there.

Single Scaup, several Mute Swans, Tufted duck wintering in Augustów. Scaup - rare visitor to this region really seldom noticed in winter.

Some waterfowl in Augustow - Scaup (unusual wintering guest), 6 Tufted Ducks, 10 Herring Gulls (also rarely remain for winter).
