Another Blyth Reed Warbler near Straszewo (east of Bialystok)

Valleys of Biebrza and Narew still with high level of water as in March. Marsh Terns are virtually everywhere. First shorebirds on their postbreeding move. Black Storks using water pools, White Storks increased significantly in numbers.

Another site of WOOD SANDPIPER known from last year also with success. Two chicks hatched near Michalowo, east of Bialystok. Currently we have two breeding pairs in NE Poland.
At least three BLYTH REED WARBLERS found singing at night around Bialystok town. Very good year for this species, probably underestimated before.

Nest of WOOD SANDPIPER with chick found at Biebrza Marshes Lower Basin. In Poland breeding birds disappeared from Polish coast area. Last year single pair raised chicks near Michalowo (NE Poland), this year we have another pair in Biebrza Marshes. Could it mean some trend for the future?

At least 4 Greenish Warblers in Knyszynska Forest.
Good year for both Warblers.

Good numbers of White-winged Black Terns breeding this year in Biebrza and Narew Valleys (exceeding 2 thousands probably). Also 26 nests of Great White Egret were discovered with chicks in Southern Biebrza Marshes.

GREAT WHITE PELICAN near Nowa Wies Elcka. Bird remains here already almost 2 weeks according to locals. So far 3-4 records in NE Poland.

Little Bittern at flooded marshy meadow near Ostrowek, Belarus border. High level of water at many small marshes and rivers attracts also numerous breeding White-winged Black Terns.
