BIRDING SITES and LOCATION
Poland and NORTH PODLASIE are located almost in the middle of Europe. The northeast part of the country holds important populations of wetland and forest birds and thanks to less developed industry preserves traditional landscape.
Here we may find both northern and southern species: Tengmalm's Owl or Whooper Swan as well as Roller and Hoopoe or recently even Bee-eaters.
Globally threatened Aquatic Warbler or Great Snipe are regular breeders.
After Poland joined the European Union birding sites are easily accessible to foreign birdwatchers. Though infrastructure is developing ecologist take care to preserve unique sites and breeding grounds of our birds.
