Two females Velvet Scoter, 6 Red-throated Divers, Long-tailed Duck at Siemianowka Reservoir.

Today two individuals of HAWK OWL!! recorded in Biebrza Marshes at the same time. They appeared to the audience of observers late afternoon. Fourth regional KITTIWAKE remained at Siemianowka Lake together with female Lont-tailed Duck and Velvet Scoter.

HAWK OWL!! again found in Gugny, Biebrza Marshes. Later seen near the "Car Road" again.

Autumn came to Brzozowka/Biebrza Valley with 850 Lapwings, 200 Golden Plovers, firt Rough-legged Buzzards (5) and hunting Peregrine.

Popielewo fish-ponds almost emptied with some nice birds: 3 White-tailed Eagles, 75 Cranes, 2 Great White Egrets. Knyszyn-Zamek ponds hold 300 Lapwings, a Greenshank, 10 Little Stints, 60 White-fronted Geese.

Muddy areas of Siemianowka Lake full of shorebirds - Dunlins (50), Curlew Sandpipers (8), Lapwings (600), Temminck Stints (2), Red-necked Phalaropes (2). Heavy dorught is still visible here. New site of Bee-eater revisited near Topolany - two birds with food near possibly occupied hole.

First Penduline Tit and Hoopoe reached the Region. First regional record of ! GREY WAGTAIL ! in Budne, Biebrza Marshes. Two Smew, 3 Caspian Terns also there.

Two adult Barnacle Geese and one !Brent Goose at Sulin, Narew Valley. Brent Goose is locally a great rarity with only few records so far. Two Jack Snipes and a Crested Lark in Zlotoria, Narew Valley.

First observation of Peregrine in the centre of Bialystok Town. Can it be a signal of a trend for future? So far it was a rare visitor to the Region.

Massive amounts of snow start melting slowly, temperature is rising. Wigeon, Grey Heron and 4 Goosanders at unfrozen Biala River near Bialystok.

Shore Larks (30) on their passage home near Kurpiki, Narew Valley.

Several (up to 20) Goosanders gathered at unfrozen Biala river near Bialystok. Currently its the only place in the neighbourhood where waterfowl may survive. Two male Wigeon, Little Grebe also there.

Immature Peregrine near Bialystok town over Biala valley. Wintering Water Rail, Kingfisher, Wigeon and at least 700 Mallards also there.

Common Buzzards and Rough-legged Buzzards in the fields near Belarus border. Herd of 30 European Bisons feeding in the fields outside Knyszynska Forest.

Single Merlin, Goshawk and White-tailed Eagle seen in meadows near Biebrza (river valley). River deeply frozen despite some milder weather.

Adult Peregrine passing over Suprasl Valley near Osowicze (Bialystok) with female Hen Harrier (rarely wintering in the region). Northern Bullfinch female with trumpet call in Bialystok.

Flocks of wintering Waxwings reach 450 indiviuals. They were recorded flying in Bialystok town. Possible Steppe Buzzard (Buteo b.vulpinus) also there at a small airport at the edge of the town.

At least 4 Blackbirds wintering this year in Bialystok town. For 4-5 years records are growing. Wintering of this species wasn't known till late 90's (severe winters).

Now sign of THE ROBIN during few hours of searching. Hopefully it moved just a bit further down the river.

Today just a short glimpse of a pale rufous bird that could not be relocated afterwards during 4 hours of observations. Hopefully the RT ROBIN will appear tomorrow after today's snowfalls. We expect some warmer days now and birders from other towns are expected. Some other local birds - wintering Water Rail, Kingfisher, immature Goshawk.
